The Edmonton marathon is run on the same marathon course
used for the 8th IAAF World Championships in Canada and starts
and finishes at the Commonwealth Stadium.
The loop-style course starts and finishes at Commonwealth
Stadium. Runners will enjoy a spectacular view of the North
Saskatchewan River as they head south as well as Edmonton's
scenic river valley is highlighted as runners proceed east.
The course is perfect for many personal bests.
This
is your opportunity to run on the same course as the elite
athletes who competed at the World Championships. This
race is for runners of all abilities. In addition to the Marathon
and Mini Marathon (5K), there will be 10K, Half Marathon and
35K events.
Centrally located and only minutes from downtown, it is the
largest outdoor stadium in Canada. Commonwealth Sports &
Fitness Centre, a year-round, newly renovated fitness and
recreation facility located at the southeast corner of Commonwealth
Stadium, will be available for use by all runners.
All event entries will receive finisher medals and quality
T-shirts.
