There are a few things to report back on more comprehensively at some point. Last Wednesday after the hilly, morning 10 km I developed a migraine and possibly been hit with a mild virus at same time. Anyway, I was wiped out for the Wednesday and eating and keeping energy levels up has been a problem since. Back off holiday now and back to work. Managed a 6km tester Monday, having managed to eat whilst at work - all good. Last night run very nice feeling 12km. More detailed update to follow later. Not sure what I am doing at moment or when I am going to be racing next because of the way things have gone the last few weeks but I am fit and running so got a good starting point!
Darren.

Hi Daz, pop out a 4k tester to see how things go
don't do regular distances but the 4k hopefully you can do this soon TheEd
Legs are a bit tired as popped out a 4:40 last km on yesterdays run to see how it felt and it was quite comfortable but will see what i can do tonight, if it doesn't feel right i will cut it short and try again on the weekend.
Thanks for the pointer. Was a bit apprehensive earlier but that felt good!! Not bad considering the legs were a bit stiff but the legs weren’t an issue, my mind was.
2.5km each warm up/down 4:30, 4:24, 4:19, 4:05. Fishing pace was 3:57. Ave pace 4:19 17:19 Ave HR 178 Max Hr 194 Would have been happy with 18. Had enough there to go flat 17 or near as, was conservative to start and held back at the end which cost the sub 4 last split.

Hi Daz, are you back on track mentally? If not, then don't continue testing yourself but rather do sessions you can complete and feel good about
when taking a 'knock' it isn't wise to continually check to see all is in order but rather to allow the mind and body to come back to sync with running that rebuilds confidence TheEd

How things going Daz?

It's been an inconsistent few months with yet more changes in personal circumstances, namely moving house. Leading up to the move I was struggling mentally with a few things and this had a knock on effect on the training. As you know coach, there has been a few runs to keep things ticking over and stop the legs getting full amnesia.
Now that i am moved and settled i am back out more regular. Here's the tale of the tape since my last significant post: 19/08/19 Resting HR 54 6.01km 33:32 5:35/km Ave HR 141 Max HR 176 25/08/19 Resting HR 55 8.00km 45:49 5:43/km Ave HR 155 Max HR 178 28/08/19 Resting HR 55 12.01km 66:49 5:34/km Ave HR 161 Max HR 186 24/09/19 Resting HR 52 6.00km 33:21 5:34/km Ave HR 151 Max HR 188 28/10/19 Resting HR 58 8:01km 45:29 5:41/km Ave HR 156 Max HR 180 30/10/19 Resting HR 57 8:01km 44:14 5:31/km Ave HR 154 Max HR 177 01/11/19 Resting HR 58 10:00km 51:15 5:07/km Ave HR 160 Max HR 196 20/11/19 Resting HR 58 6:01km 32:54 5:29/km Ave HR 164 Max HR 177 21/11/19 Resting HR 57 6:02km 30:13 5:01/km Ave HR 159 Max HR 192 21/11/19 Resting HR 57 0.45km 2:26 5:26/km Ave HR 172 Max HR 175 24/11/19 Resting HR 56 11.63km 62:54 5:25/km Ave HR 154 Max HR 183 25/11/19 Resting HR 57 1.01km 5:21 5:21/km Ave HR 142 Max HR 155 25/11/19 Resting HR 57 5.01km 28:18 5:39/km Ave HR 140 Max HR 160 26/11/19 Resting HR 57 3.40km 16:48 4:57/km Ave HR 135 Max HR 160 26/11/19 Resting HR 57 6.00km 53:21 8:54/km Ave HR 134 Max HR 176 27/11/19 Resting HR 55 13.5km 73:44 5:28/km Ave HR 146 Max HR 173 Probably not a good idea, but yesterday was day 1. Race day is Sunday the 15th Dec. 10km Race. lets see what happens on a sub 45 cycle playing the intervals by feel. Target for the race is to pace my friend to a sub 50 so not aiming for anything too strenuous. Obviously there is a bit of work to do to recover full fitness again but been feeling good and comfortable and recovering quickly without anything being too taxing on the body or mind this week.
