I have very definite thoughts on trail running, you are either biomechanically capable of running trail or you are not
the more often you run trail in a race the more prepared you become mentally and the muscles work in sync with the muscles
the 10km programs have a great amount of depth to them, especially once the athlete becomes consistent and moves through their gears (and different modes of the program)
with 'the lasses' and because there are just so many trail races on the island, it is the intention to use these runs as training races until they develop their 'motor skills' to be adept at racing

in closing, the 10k programs do not need to be changed, you could look to do easy runs across trail and then run a few trail races to adapt
