You might be on to something there. I do seem to go through tougher periods & then swing back up quite quickly (& go even faster than I did in the last up-swing).
So: 2x cycles over a 6 week period (ideally with the key race at the end of the 2nd cycle). Then a few days easy + week build up & kick back into the programme the next Thursday?
It's worth a shot. I'd happily take an 8.40 3k... even without the steeples!
Would I also be able to balance this by working harder on the swim/bike in the easy/build phases of the running? Or were you thinking of this more as a rhythm for the whole tri programme?
