Hello,
I just completed my first race on September 26. I ran a local half marathon in 1:42. My next race will be a 10K on October 25 and I would like to try to complete it in under 45 minutes to improve my seeding for another half marathon on my schedule in the spring.
I ran about 15 easy miles throughout the week following the half marathon and began the sub 45 program the week after that. I could only complete two of the 2K repeats on day 3 because I ran too fast. I ran the first 2K in 7:58 and the second in 8:05. I finished with some easy running instead of doing two more.
Today felt like it was the best workout so far. I did the 6 x 1K and they all felt great. My times were
1- 4:15
2- 4:05
3- 4:09
4- 4:12
5- 4:15
6- 4:15
Should I be concerned about the burnout on the 2K's or am I on the right track for a sub 45 in 12 days? Thanks
