Hehe, true...
According to the mcmillan calculator here:
http://www.mcmillanrunning.com/index.php...calculator
The time for a 5k needs to be 16:51...I'm 2 minutes (or more) off that...Seems close, but i realize its probably further away than my jump from 49:xx in the 10k to 41:53.
I guess what I'm wondering if you can answer is, given my stats below, 1 year of listening to your exacting training , do you think I can do it? Or put another way, have you seen anyone like me, with similar stats, improve from around 42min 10k to a 35min 10k in a year...?
Stats:
34years old
10k time: 41:53
Weight: 170lbs/77kg -> figure about 10lbs of extra fat i could happily lose
Height: 5'10"/178cm
Probably not really answerable...
Maybe a more interesting question is if it possible for me to improve by that much, what should be some targets to measure my progress towards that goal? I'm crazy enough to plan out the next 12 months of training, with the cycles, planned downtime. And maybe with each planned cycle, you can suggest some target times I should be striving for to hit that goal?
I will start a new thread for my 35min goal...
