Ran the relay Saturday with no complications. Was quite enjoyable and I do think the times I achieved confirm that my shape is still good.
Ended up running three different stages for three different teams (all of them in the "company sports" category. Maybe you have heard of this relay elsewhere? It`s called Holmenkollstafetten and is actually (so, I`ve read, at least) the worlds biggest relay run of its kind, with more than 40.000 participators. Taking place in Oslo, capital of Norway.
I started with a relatively flat 600 meter, time 1:47. This was a comparatively good result (25th out of 1241).
Then had 20 minutes rest before I ran a moderately hilly (mostly upwards) 1800 meter at 6:48. This was also a good result, but comparatively not that high up on the list (108).
Then had 1h20 min before running a relatively flat 1060 meter, time 3:33. Again this was a decent result. Gave me the 2nd best out of 569 teams in a class with majority female runners (would have given 51st place in the "majority of male" class).
Don`t know what you may make of these times, just wanted to post them for the record.
`Yesterday I had a restday, really needed it, as my calf muscles were quite sore after the relay runs. Still a bit sore today, so planning to do an easy run on the treadmill.
Then maybe start another cycle tomorrow.
Have the 10 k scheduled for saturday 25th. Thats only two weeks from now, so wondering wheter to jump into the cycle week 2 or start with week 1 then just do the race on day scheduled for 5k test run. (I may want participate on a 5 k race tuesday 21st as well).
Any thoughts on the next weeks, given these dates? I`m fine with just going along not to effort minded for the moment. As I feel the first 10 k race (which is now in the past was the most important for me this spring).
best regards.
