Hi TheEd,
I ended up not doing the 4km time trial last week. As you would put it, life got in the way - a Coldplay concert and a sore throat (which seems to be gone) to be precise. In the end I had a rest day leading into the 21km charity run last Friday.
My pace averaged out at just over 5min/km pace. It was a three lap course so I took the first one easy with some mates around 5:40/km pace and then sped up to around 4:30/km avg for the next two. My competitive edge got the better of me as I decided I wanted to post a half decent time.
I haven't been looking forward to the challenge of the 5x2km tomorrow, but am wanting to do one more cycle before the 'off period' over Christmas. I'll try to keep to the 3:50/km I've done in previous sessions.
