Tomas Riste has been elected as the President of Swedish Athletics at the yearly congress of the organisation.

60-year-old Riste, who has been a Council member of the Swedish Athletics since 2008, replaced Lennart Karlberg.

Riste has a vast experience in the field of sports, politics and trade union. He is the Regional Commissioner at Värmlands Regional Development Agency, Region Värmland.
