The New Zealand Olympic Committee has marked the 100 day milestone to the Olympic Games with the announcement of more selections for London 2012.
Along with Triathlon and Football announcements, the New Zealand Olympic Committee confirmed the selection of 50km race walker Quentin Rew who met the IAAF A standard on March 25, just missing the initial athletics team selection.
Rew qualified for selection to the London Olympic Games after finishing ninth in the 50km race walk at the IAAF Walking Challenge, Dudinska Paldesjatka, Solvakia in 3h 58m 48s, just 12 seconds under the performance standard.
The 27 year old cut a substantial eight minutes off his previous best set in Taicang China in April last year. Rew was 24th in the 50km road walk at the world championships in Daegu last September.
Rew joins four others in the initial selection, Valerie Adams, Nick Willis, Kimberley Smith and Stuart Farquhar.
