Excitement reigns as runners prepare to celebrate National Womenââ¬â¢s Day by participating in the Totalsports Ladies Race in Stellenbosch and Johannesburg on Tuesday, 09 August 2011.
Stellenbosch ~ Top South African road and track athlete, Rene Kalmer will head to the Winelands this Womenââ¬â¢s Day where sheââ¬â¢ll take part in the Stellenbosch leg of the hugely anticipated Totalsports Ladies Race.
Kalmer, representing the Nedbank Running Club, walked off with gold at the inaugural Totalsports Ladies Race Durban at Kingspark Athletics Stadium this past weekend (Sunday, 31 July 2011). According to Kalmer, she is using the Totalsports Ladies Races to test whether her marathon training for the World Championship is up to schedule. ââ¬ÅWinning the Totalsports Ladies Race in Durban was a great experience. There was an amazing vibe amongst the runners. I enjoyed running through the Nedbank Green Mile section of the route, the motivational posters featured in this section carried me through to the end. Iââ¬â¢m really looking forward to taking part at the Totalsports Ladies Race in Stellenboschââ¬Â, says Kalmer.
