Athletics South Africa (ASA) is urging all athletes running the Soweto Marathon on Sunday, 6 November to run with black arm bands in honour of the five athletes that lost their lives recently in a horrible accident that took place almost two weeks ago.
Given Mills, Reneilwe Lesenyeho, Nomvula Dumako, Moroese Mokoatsi and Isaac Tlale were training for the Soweto Marathon when they got knocked over by an alleged drunk driver. Another athlete, Khanyiswa Sthengile, was recovering in hospital.
The marathon will start at 06h00 at Nasrec
