Denmark: Copenhagen – A field of 7000 runners is expected for this Sunday’s Glitnir Copenhagen Marathon, to be run through the streets of Denmark’s capital city.
The event shall take the runners past numerous landmarks in this beautiful European city, as well as provide the serious runner with a fast flat route conducive for personal bests.
Last year’s winner, Torben Juul Nielsen, who won in 2:24:08 is expected to defend his crown and stiff competition is expected in thwarting his attempt.
A winning time of close to 2:20 is on the cards for the Men with the Women’s winner looking to cross the line in a time close to 2hr 45min.
The event is growing in popularity and competitors can rely on the superb organisational skills of the host club Sparta who through the sponsorship of Glitnir Bank are looking forward to providing the runners with an event to remember.
