We decided to drive down, from Dublin the day before. Registration and race number collection are done the days before hand. Our hotel of choice is the Travellodge just outside of town, at 45 euro per night a steal. The room is big and most important, a very nice bathroom with powerful shower. [Read more…]
Bekele strolls through Phoenix Park
Some 10,000 runners of all ages took part today in the SPAR Great Ireland Run in the Phoenix Park, Dublin in very windy but warm conditions. Among these were almost 1,500 children in the Mini and Junior Runs for five to eight year olds and nine to fifteen year olds respectively. [Read more…]

After her impressive run at the weekend in the World Cross Country Championships in Poland, Fionnuala Britton now focuses on the road as she prepares for the SPAR Great Ireland Run on 14 April in the Phoenix Park, Dublin. Britton to defend Euro Title
Defending champion Fionnuala Britton will lead the Irish charge at the 19th SPAR European Cross Country Championships in Budapest, Hungary, on 9 December.
The 28-year-old has been shaping up well to defend her title in the Hungarian capital. She finished fourth in a very competitive field at the VIII Cross de Atapuerca in Burgos, Spain, earlier this month and an equally creditable third place finish in a classy field in the Cross de l’Acier, France, at the weekend.
