Sunday 13 January 2008 the Egmond Half Marathon will burst out again, with the largest field and a maximum number of 12,500 athletes. The Netherlands biggest winter Half marathon.

Some of the world’s top athletes, with the World Champion Luke Kibet of Kenya as the big favourite, will fight for the 36th time against storm, frost and snow on a course which is never the same. Supported by more than 40,000 spectators former winners like Robert Cheboror, William Kipsang, Lornah Kiplagat, Susan Chepkemei and Tegla Loroupe have conquered the diverse course with a small lap through the small and cosy coastal village of Egmond aan Zee, 7 km across the loose sandy beach and at least 10 km through the hilly dunes and forests of the National Nature Reserve “Noordhollands Duinreservaat”.

Egmond aan Zee is located less than an hour from the Dutch capital Amsterdam and you can find more information on http://www.egmondhalvemarathon.nl.
