Could the 10km programme be tweaked for a half marathon ?

Hi Phil, most definitely

same schedule as for a 10k and simply increase the long run to 18k for starters and as you progress over time after racing the 21km then begin to increase the long run in segments  .. 20 . 22 up to 25km

no need for more than that

Hi Ed,

Thank you for the advice on the longer runs using the same 10km training plans for the half Marathon...I had a perfect race.

I now have a half Marathon trail run with some nasty hills (870m elevation gain) planned for the 1st week in January 2025. How do I incorporate hill work into the plan?

Hi there, depending on the 10k time program you training on you can add the following:

on Day 1 of the program add rolling hills to that session .. so in that run use a route that has a few hills in them

also on day 10, you can add a few rolling hills into that session

hope this is easy to incorporate

Hi Phil, then you should be able to add the rolling hills to day 1 and day 10 on the program
