Getting Started on Training Plan - amorts - 21-10-2010 I guess so. I knew beforehand that I wouldn't beat my pb based upon my recent race times. I thought I would get around a 1:27. I didn't go out with any real strategy. I tweaked my hamstring slightly around the 10 mile marker meaning I couldn't push on and get closer to the PB time. So I sat in a maintained 7 min miles to the finish. I haven't been out since the race but I'm planning on starting again today. I'm pleased I was able to get a respectable time and feel I could go faster with a more structure longer training plan. Went out tonight, my hamstring was still tight, so I only did four miles. I'm not sure of the best way to treat it. I went out on Sunday and ran 8 miles at 8 min/mi pace. No issues with the hamstrings. In 2011 I was injured so didn't run much and I started to get back into it last year. After falling into the dreaded training trap of repeating the same training over and over I have recently started to focus on varying my sessions correctly again. The rest were pancake flat. |
