Let's try this again... - wookie - 11-08-2010 Okay, I ended up doing my 60 minutes today So I've followed the program with the exception of: Day 2 was hockey instead of 30 minute run Day 7 was swimming 2 km instead of 30 minute run Day 9 was hockey instead of 30 minute run Day 10 I missed my 60 minute run, but swam 2km (I planned to do both yesterday) Day 10 Did today, Tuesday, one day off schedule, 60:00, 12.46 km, 4:49 per KM, AHR 155, MHR 163. So I assume you don't want me doing the 5.0 km tomorrow to catch up right? Thanks Let's try this again... - TheEd - 11-08-2010 shuffle it around when it doesn't involve quality sessions let's hope all is OK for the swim TheEd ps.. I had put running to the side some years ago but trying to get into the swing of things these days Let's try this again... - wookie - 11-08-2010 TheEd Wrote:shuffle it around when it doesn't involve quality sessions Bolded part, confused? What do you mean? We'll see with the swim. I have to decide (sign up) by August 16th. I'm assuming that's a no for the 5.0 km tomorrow and yes to take the day off? "Swing of things" does that mean taking part in events? Exciting!! Hope it goes well! Let's try this again... - TheEd - 11-08-2010 what it means is that you can move the runs around on the days other than the quality days, so easy runs are fine to chop and change, however the quality sessions are the pattern we need to stick to so as to get the results hope that helps TheEd ps.. very definitely fun and exciting times for participation Let's try this again... - wookie - 11-08-2010 TheEd Wrote:what it means is that you can move the runs around on the days other than the quality days, so easy runs are fine to chop and change, however the quality sessions are the pattern we need to stick to so as to get the results Okay makes perfect sense. So what do you recommend for the 5.0km session? It was to fall on today, however the leaving shoes @ work incident had me doing my 60 min yesterday (which should have been rest day)? Thanks Let's try this again... - TheEd - 11-08-2010 Rest today and do the 5km tomorrow does this sound 'workable' Cheers TheEd Let's try this again... - wookie - 11-08-2010 TheEd Wrote:Rest today and do the 5km tomorrow Rest days are always workable!!! YAY!!!! Thanks!!! Let's try this again... - wookie - 13-08-2010 wookie Wrote:Rest days are always workable!!! Day 12 - 5.0km had to wait until 9:15 to do the run. Was windy and stormy. However, when I went to do it, it was a nice 12 degrees. That sure made it a lot easier. wind of 26 KM's though. Anyway 5.00 km 20:00 4:00 per km, AHR 171, MHR 181 Felt okay throughout. It was hard work, but I wasn't wiped after. I'm home 50minutes after and I don't even feel like I did anything. Not out of breath or tired (sitting at computer). I'm actually feeling quite warmed up. Heart Rate was down to 120 BPM within 2 minutes. Ah well. I'll update in a few days as I don't think the next few runs need any input. Have a good weekend! Oh - and for some reason I noticed your post on McKeever for September, small world, I grew up playing soccer with him, my brother played with his brother we lived in the same neighborhood. I'll have to check that event out. Funny finding out about an event in my home city, supported by someone I used to know, on a forum run by a moderator in Europe  Let's try this again... - TheEd - 13-08-2010  we aim to please the 5km sounds pretty solid considering the wind enjoy the weekend TheEd Let's try this again... - wookie - 19-08-2010 Hello, Okay, Did my 60 minute day, did the 30 minute day. Something happened with my Grandmother, she wasn't doing very well. Our trip was possibly jeopardized (even though I cancelled doing the race anyway as my shoulder isn't feeling strong enough). She passed away last night. So I'm going to do whatever training I do to keep myself happy, but no race day or specific training sessions for maybe a week. I've got a 10km race September 25th so 37 days away. I'll start training for that in a week I guess. Although how should I work that? Assume I take a week off, that leaves 30 days, what should I do for days 1 - 11 before starting the 19 day schedule? Thanks!! |
