10K Training Program - April - 12-11-2009 Hi TheEd In case you are wondering what's happening to me. I'm still down with flu and cough. Resting.... Will update you again when I'm better... April 10K Training Program - TheEd - 12-11-2009 get well soon and please let us know how things go TheEd 10K Training Program - April - 16-11-2009 Hi TheEd I recovered from flu. Went for a 30min run yesterday, the run was quite an effort. You were right, I had flashback of what I went through at the race. There's fear that it may happen to me at every race... I need to overcome psychologically. Let me know when I'm ready to get back to training. April 10K Training Program - TheEd - 16-11-2009 be gentle on yourself and consider doing the 1st week of The Beginner's program Will start with 30 minute periods of exercise, 3 times per week for the next 2 weeks. The activity will consist of the 'lifting of both feet' from the ground. This is termed running/jogging. that way you will ease back in to things lightly and should be able to consider running in no time don't pay too much attention to the 'psycho' stuff as you have enough talent to move forward without complications if you ponder too much about it you will make it important Cheers onwards and forwards TheEd 10K Training Program - April - 17-11-2009 Yes! I'll do just as you said... Should I start the Beginner's Program tomorrow - run for full 30mins? Thank you for your wise advice. Really appreciate it... I'm excited to be back training again!!! April 10K Training Program - TheEd - 17-11-2009 you should cope quite easily with the session, if at any time you struggle simply walk for the period until you feel you can run again and stay positive .. let everything come naturally without attaching expectations and pressure to the routine simply enjoy good stuff TheEd 10K Training Program - April - 22-11-2009 Hi TheEd Completed Week 1 of the Beginner's Program: Day 1 (Wed) - I was caught up with timing and I ran my heart out for the 1st half of the 30mins run. Then, I remembered that it was supposed to be run/jog, so I slowed down. Somehow, I am very conscious of timing, my running form/posture, breathing, strides... I'm not able to relax and enjoy the run. Day 2 (Thu) - Rest Day 3 (Fri) - Ran full 30mins. Effort - managable. Day 4 (Sat) - Rest Day 5 (Sun) - Ran full 30mins. Run was alot easier. Questions: - In those 3 runs, I felt that my legs were heavy. Why was that so? - Should I start Week 2 on Tue? April 10K Training Program - TheEd - 22-11-2009 Hi April, I do believe you have a lot of mental fatigue associated with running at the moment as your system has taken a little bit of a knock try not to read too much in to your running at the moment if you run and feel like walking, then walk, enjoy the fact that you exercising if you take away the stress of trying to 'feel' good and simply enjoy the exercise, the cloud and heavy feeling should lift you only have 'to do' currently, you do not have to perform no pressure, the pure enjoyment of movement, no matter if it is as slow as a snail enjoy being out attitude to enjoy TheEd ps.. starting Tuesday fine .. no frills enjoyment 10K Training Program - April - 30-11-2009 Hi TheEd I've completed Week 2. I'm doing alot better this week. I could feel I'm on my way to recovery physically - my legs are no longer heavy, though I'm still breathing harder than before. Question: - For day 2, 4 & 6 - I didn't do the exercises/stretching/brisk walk as stated in the program. Hope this is ok? - I will continue with Week 3, right? April 10K Training Program - April - 15-12-2009 Hi TheEd It's been a long while... I have completed 4 weeks of the program and started on the 8K program on Sun.
