New year, new targets - K4marathon - 06-05-2012 Thanks! Yes, it is 4:12 faster than last year. I wanted to improve by 4:40, but I think this is still very good. The other thing that differs from last year is that despite the fact that I truly used all my strength (pulse at max the whole time, and at theoretical max for last 4 km), I still was very able to walk and even jog shortly after the race. So recovery was remarkable compared to last year when I could barely walk for the next 2-3 days. Perhaps my new shoes helped a little, but also the general readiness of my body seemed much better now. A good sign for future challenges I have not decided for a new target yet, still thinking of targeting a 1:40 half marathon and possibly running a full marathon at some point. But for now, I will take a few weeks rest and enjoy the spring via easy jogging, cycling etc. All the best!
