10K Training Program Question - Hyperspace - 01-08-2010 Hey TheEd, Dropped pace run y/day-instead Waddled 6km: 33:22, 124bpm avg. On way back past beach surf was up...couldn't help myself and got in for about 1.25 hrs. Was not a huge session, easy to medium. All in all felt like this was equivalent to doing today's scheduled 1hr Easy. Had a late night last night and felt a bit ropey this morning so decided to do a Waddle to loosen up from y/day and keep momentum up: 35:13/6km/117bpm avg/5:42/km. Mindful of the 3x5km@race pace on Tues-feel like I should rest tomorrow or should I see how feel and may do another Waddle? Thanks, D 10K Training Program Question - TheEd - 01-08-2010 another waddle should be fine TheEd 10K Training Program Question - Hyperspace - 02-08-2010 TheEd, Waddle this eve: 4.8 miles, all surfaces, stop/start with run club-took it very easy cruising along at HR approx 120bpm-finished in about 50mins. Although found it easy, chest and breathing feeling tiny bit tight, reckon might still be a bit tired from weekend-going to get early night to try and perk up for tomorrows 3x5min session-this should line me up for a race on Sun wouldn't it? There's a nice local 10km on Sun so might enter after seeing how tomorrows session goes catchup soon, D 10K Training Program Question - TheEd - 02-08-2010 yeah rather take the day off .. here's hoping you are not coming down with anything Cheers TheEd 10K Training Program Question - Hyperspace - 03-08-2010 Hey TheEd, No exercise today as planned - been feeling only very, very slightly off-key all day, a very mild headache thats all. Feels like somethings rooting around trying to come through ie cold or flu. Might be something the immune is dealing with adequately. Its a weird feeling but I sense that I am the very closest in tune I have ever been in my life with my physical self - is that an unusual thing to experience as your fitness progresses? Taking notice of the little signs and acting accordingly. Didnt quite get the early night wanted last night as I felt wasn't going sleep properly so delayed until ready - got 7 hours, not enough but at least not disturbed. Woke up and took pulse was about 41/42 - normal is late 30's, so up a bit but not significant... Going for an early night this eve and see how feel in morning, all might have passed and can go for the 3x5mins tomorrow, will either turn into a 'tonk' or the cure :mmm: Any advice coach? Cheers, D 10K Training Program Question - TheEd - 04-08-2010 D .. what you need to do is track back a little through your previous posts to try see the pattern which has led to how you feel currently there is a very definite pattern and we should learn from it, in a proactive manner, so that we can lessen the chances of going down the same road that leads to crash and burn regarding the 3 x 5 minutes, it would be best to maybe have an easy run to see how things are and then after 15 minutes of easy running you can extend yourself slightly to finish off on a good note try not to let this get worse by also getting a few early nights Cheers TheEd 10K Training Program Question - Hyperspace - 04-08-2010 hey TheEd, Got out for a Waddle at lunch: 3.7 miles: 31:59/124bpm avg-5:42/km felt a little puffed out but ok, felt better after. Will be taking your advice from last post, early nights etc. Just to mention going to away next week visiting relatives etc-might be difficult to keep decent routine up, will try though but were thinking about ticking over with some Waddles here and there-will keep you posted but going to scrap Sundays race-may be I can start a new 19-day cycle a week next Tues? If I find the energy might try and do the 3x5min at weekend just to get a feel where I'm at, Catchup soon, D 10K Training Program Question - TheEd - 05-08-2010 enjoy D .. we can give the cycle another bash a week from Tuesday take care TheEd 10K Training Program Question - Hyperspace - 16-08-2010 Hey TheEd, Well hows it going there Mr TheEd?! Hows your waddling? OK here, well, had an interesting week off last week. Unfortunatley Ive had to weather a pretty heavy storm - that being my partner deciding to go her own sweet seperate way after 6 years...what can I say? Wasn't entriely a shock after her studies, however was hoping and working for the best. I am doing OK - last week was spent with relatives and friends so worst of it is under the bridge. Just got to get used to work and stuff. Managed a couple of exercise sessions last week. Thurs: 65 mins easy/med road bike Sun: 1:20hr easy/med bike then 15 min waddle So, planning to start the next 19-day cycle tomorrow. Will see how get on with 45 mins Easy and some stretching. Obvioulsy with recent events am going to need to tread very carefully and not overdo it. Gladly, I hope, after the last few months of steady'ish training I will be able to ride this period out and get on with my life. Women eh! Who needs them, in fact if only my ex acted more like a women instead of like a girl... Cheers, D 10K Training Program Question - TheEd - 17-08-2010 sorry to hear of your upheaval, hope things become easier in the forthcoming weeks make sure you don't train too hard as it would be very easy to hammer it to release your frustrations, so do try to plan your outlet with various sessions focus during this period may be very difficult TheEd ps.. my waddling is fine to mediocre and still hoping to bring weight down further pps.. they say if you want loyalty, companionship et al ... get a dog |
