5km training - TheEd - 10-05-2010 B .. what exactly are they going to be doing? TheEd 5km training - beatule1 - 10-05-2010 I am not sure what exactly speed they will be taking, but I think they will try their maximum sprints as they are new to the track too.. I am not trying to keep up with guys, I'll have my own speed, but I wish to do 400 or 800m:jester: or less? As many times as I need to? Maybe also because I'm little vorried about first track session.. Beatule 5km training - TheEd - 11-05-2010 to be honest, you could land up hurting yourself but it is your call a decent session would be 5 x 800m Rest 60-75 sec pace 2.50 to 3.00 then 2 x 400m Rest 60 sec pace 80 - 85 but then I am not sure they would want to do this Cheers TheEd 5km training - beatule1 - 11-05-2010 Hi TheEd, Oh my days!!! First track session since teenager time! As all of us are very stubborn we all did session as you gave, but here's my times as one of the guys was little faster than me and other 2 slower: was worried to get speed not wright as had no idea how fast I was running, but I think I managed to get it quite wright.. 1-800m was 2:49 (a bit to fast at the benning!) 2-800m was 3:00 3-800m was 3:01 (tired!!!!) 4,5-800m same 3:03 (very tired!!) Rested 1min in between as forgot that we could do 75s.. I could have rested for longer.. 1-400m 1:20 (tired!) 2-400m 1:23 (finished thank goodness!!) Rested slightly longer than a minute as were knackered!!! It felt so different outside than on a treadmill. It was harder and together easier. Harder as it was wind resistance, cold, and legs had to carry me not a treadmill belt! but easier as it was just 2laps: 1st usually easier as more energy and 2nd one doesn't look that far when you look at it and for your mind it's the last lap- always easier! It was bloody hard session but I was like on high after it! Tired but very happy!! Best session ever! I think it also helped to be in a group- pushed each other more... Beatule:jester: 5km training - TheEd - 13-05-2010 seems as though you enjoyed yourself easy recovery running and slot in a 1hr over the weekend and nice going a good solid session and I think after that burn out you should be back to normal somewhat Cheers TheEd 5km training - beatule1 - 13-05-2010 Hi TheEd, Any runs for this week? Could I make 1h run tomorrow as because of traveling I couldn't make 1h run during weekend.. I did though manage to do little circuit session on Thursday and over 40min run over fields and hills on Friday back in Lithuania.. Hope that's ok and not much out of plan..? If no I'm fine to run more this week! Beatule |
