Trying to get to sub 45 now need help! - Babsyrun - 19-04-2018

Hi Ed,

Really enjoyed today’s session.

Hottest day of year 23c and midday.

4:18
4:22
4:35
4:40
4:40

Last 2 1km repeats I was dripping in sweat. They were slow but the heat got to me.

Thoughts? Tomorrow, weekend and week ahead?

Thanks again, B x

Thank you

HI B, to start with, here is an article which may hopefully help

http://www.time-to-run.com/training/articles/the-importance-of-short-term-goals.htm

then I would like to mention, I started coaching 1 on 1 in 1984, becoming more involved in 1985, in 1987 I resigned from my job and focused on coaching (heck, there was no money in running coaching, so I was an idiot) .. now the reason I mention this, is because in all my years of experience, I can mention, you are not unique

1. you are not the first athlete to go through what you are going through
2. focus on the positives, stop giving yourself a hard time, shit really does happen
3. do things in little steps ..
a. you running
b. you competitive
c. damn, you must enjoy the challenge and not take it so seriously, this is fun, you will not be sent to the dungeon for things going a little wrong

d ... to be continued

Ed!

Thank you that has made me lol and you have gained a big insight into my psyche! Very very funny...more spot on than you realise! Fun!? What’s that? Lol I am learning more and more about fun, mentally relaxing and confidence with regard to running even other areas of my life. It really is a metaphor.

Your advice and support is so gratefully received thank you.

Look forward to the fun now! Xxx

Hi Ed,

I am indeed training and yes enjoying it. Relaxing the mind more where I can. Interestingly I have some health problems developing which may explain the difficulty in moving my times on. I will see how all that pans out. Fingers crossed all ok. I am preparing for my half though. Just no massive expectation just getting out to run as I feel and no garmin!

Thank you
