Training towards sub-45 minute 10k. But stuck at 55 minutes?? - kkandler - 14-03-2010

ok, that's what i have been doing after the quality runs, taking it very easy. i don't have any races planned until may 31, but.... if there are races scheduled in the Manila area can I run them? do I use the same race day as on the schedule?

Can you point me in the direction of some nutrition advice for running? I haven't done anything in the way of good eating and i thought it might help my run times.

enjoy the weekend,

Kyle

Hi there Kyle, it would be good practise to race at the end of the current cycles so you start training your body to perform on the day you want it to perform

so pencil in either a 5km to 10km test

for nutrition you can look at our nutrition section for starters

http://www.time-to-run.com/nutrition/

at a later day we are hoping to add more data

Cheers

Kyle aim to sun the 10k to have a solid run and enjoy

you in the early stages of adaptation to the cycles, so enjoy the experience

you should still get some decent results

Couldn't get registered for the Globe 10k race, but...

I ran a 45:04 10k test at home. I am very happy!

Thanks,

Kyle

I am reading "Marathon" by Jeff Galloway. He recommends taking walk-breaks during the marathon. Do you think short walk-breaks (10-30 seconds) should be used during a 10k race? I have a race in Manila on May 30 where I am hoping to break 45 minutes.

Regards,

Kyle

if it helps then do it but for a 10km you should build up to racing without a stop

Dear Sir,

Originally my posts were for 10k training, but I would like to try to train for 5k. Is there a schedule for 5k training???

Best regards,
