Hi TheEd. My morning pulse is ok (around 44). Did my long run today. Aprox 22 km in 2 hours. Felt ok, only a little tired the last 20 minutes.

Hi TheEd. Just to let you know I wasn't able to run since my saturday long run. It seems I had a relapse from my cold, nothing serious, runny nose again and a cough. Maybe this weekend I can do some easy ks.

Hi TheED. Tried this morning to do the 5x2K on a treadmill at the Gym. I couldn't complete it . 1st repetition at 4 min per K pace, hr went very high again (180), lowered a little for 2nd 4:08 but I was already dead. Then decided to quit.Confusedtop: I should have started maybe at 4:15 per k :o:. What do you suggest? continue with the other runs in the program, or start again next week?

yes, 4 minutes per km is a 40 minute 10km

you have to build up the speed in stages once consistency is in place

recently you have struggled a little, so no consistency, so you must not then push up the speed of the sessions until you have the consistency back

better off running slower pace and then achieving consistency before increasing pace of sessions

onwards and forwards

Hi TheED. Did my long run on Sunday morning, aprox 24,5 km in 2 hs. 20 min. Today (tuesday night) completed 6 x 1k @ 4 min. 4 sec. on a treadmill, although with 2 min. rests before 5th and 6th interval. HR max 170 to 179 in the last rep. (I have a very old and simple hr monitor, i cannot record laps so I try to memorize them) down to 134 - 136 in rests.

Hi TheEd. Completed my cycle this week, did 10x400m @ 3:53 min/k on tuesday night and the 6x1 min fartlek today. I have no race next weekend, so I was planning to do either a 10k time trial or a 14 km run at half marathon pace. What do you think?

Half marathon training - Héctor - 23-06-2011

Oh I forgot to mention that I couldn't do the tempo run on saturday, and the 10x400 and fartlek were completed on the treadmill.
