Training to run a half marathon - TheEd - 17-03-2014

so how we doing this side, running easy every 2nd day up to 20 minutes unless told differently

keep things easy .. we have kicked up the routine and there is no rush to make anything intense

this weekend we will look to do 1hr of activity

10 minute walk 20 minute jog and then 10 minute walk followed by 20 minute jog

that will be the highlight of the week

then next week we doing the 2k session again

Will do 2km session on Tuesday 3 x 2km and focus on the same times as last session (5minkm), enjoying walking 10min and running 20min feels a lot easier and not so sore getting stronger Thanks Q

No No .. that is for next week

this week is an easy week

you end it off with the longer stuff on Saturday

be patient

next week 2k session

every 2nd day this week you can run 20 minutes

tomorrow 20 mins then Thursday 20 mins

this will give you the recovery and provide you with the new rhythm

Saturday is the long session as mentioned above

onwards

Ran easy for 20 min every second day and on Saturday walk 10 run 20 min walk 10 run 20min walk 10min felt good . Monday easy 20 min run felt good. Doing some press ups and some light weights for arms and legs.Hey Ed would it be ok if cycled every off day to try and rid some weight or like you mention some swimming......Awaiting further instruction thanks Ed

you can move the session up to 4 x 2k starting at the previous pace

with the last 2k 5 seconds per km quicker

have you the times you running for this?

I was really enjoying training again it felt good ..today at work I jumped off fork lift and hurt back of left heal I am so, so, so angry and disappointed.I was feeling so good Sorry Ed I will have to stop for a couple of days a bit sore to walk on .Will let you know when i can run again .Dammmm
