How to train - Raginglynx - 19-12-2010

I've caught a cold. It's a small one with thick head, coryoza and some sneezing. But running still felt good.

I usually feel when it's time to take it easy when it comes to sporting and colds Smile

Day 20, build up
40 to 50min over rolling hills – work the hills

Lap Distance Time Avg Pace Avg HR Max HR Cadence
1 7.55 40:38 5:23 137 161 89

best to take a break and recover

you have nothing to gain by trying to run through it .. your training has not been intense or with a set race coming up, so relax and enjoy Xmas

Hi TheEd!

So you think I should recover?
Just until I'm not sick, or?
I won't lose much fitness then?

Christian

best to get rid of the problem as it may be viral and the current cold conditions could lead to something far worse if you run with the 'hocus pocus' in the air

you laying the foundation now so it will not affect the build up much if you recover quickly, if it is prolonged then it will affect fitness more

hope this helps

Hi TheEd!

I'm looking at races for next year. In May I probably will move to China to work for a year onward, but until then I want to run some races. I will also try to find some races in China.

But, how should I plan for the races to get the most out of them. How long in between and everything else you can come up with..

Some races I have a little in mind is:

sun 20 March GöteborgsVarvets seedningslopp ... 10,55 km
sön 27 March Premiärmilen 10,00 km
Sat 2 April Startmilen 10 km 10,00 km
Sat 30 April Lerumsloppet 10 km 10,00 km
lör 7 May Springtime Mariestad 10,00 km

rgds and Merry Christmas!

Today was a hill running day. I have a hard time finding rolling hills, so I try to simulate it by finding slopes which I run upward and then down again Smile

Hi Christian .. once you start getting onto the cycles that include the 2k and 1k sessions you will become familiar with the pattern and you will soon see how easy it is to go towards the races

seems as though some big changes are coming on your map

TheEd
ps.. Christmas wishes to you

Great! Looking forward to learn how to Smile

When do you think I should start with the 1k and 2k sessions. And what program should I go onto if I aim for sub 37 this year?

Do you think the 500 bodyweight workout is favourable for my running towards progress? At which program should I do it then to get the most out of the strength training?

Christian
