RE: Working towards my first sub 45 10K - TheEd - 22-11-2019 Hi Johan, good luck for the event enjoy TheEd RE: Working towards my first sub 45 10K - johanbakx - 05-01-2020 Hi Ed, happy new year! Just to let you know I'm still running. Had a pretty calm December month but kept fit. Been upping my training a bit again and currently looking for a race in March / April to work forward to. In a few weeks I'll update you on my progress and we'll work towards the next race! Be well, Johan RE: Working towards my first sub 45 10K - TheEd - 05-01-2020 great stuff Johan all the best for 2020 TheEd RE: Working towards my first sub 45 10K - johanbakx - 03-09-2020 Hi Ed, Back on the forum again! I've never stopped running apart from some short breaks, just haven't been chasing my goal again until recently. I'm quite fit at the moment and I have a 10k race October 11th. All subject to the covid situation around that time of course, but I expect it to go ahead, which is great! I'll be starting a slightly shortened cycle this Saturday and then a full cycle before the race. That cycle will start September 23rd. I'll update you on the progress. Cheers, Johan RE: Working towards my first sub 45 10K - TheEd - 06-09-2020 Great to hear from you again Johan good luck with the cycle TheEd RE: Working towards my first sub 45 10K - johanbakx - 21-09-2020 Hi Ed, so my new cycle starts on wednesday and at the end on october 11th is a 10k race. I am pretty fit, but I think around 47m for that race is realistic. So for the 4x2k I think 4:45 would be appropriate? Cheers, Johan RE: Working towards my first sub 45 10K - TheEd - 22-09-2020 Hi Johan, that seems like a sensible start with the 4 x 2k .. look forward to receiving the feedback enjoy TheEd RE: Working towards my first sub 45 10K - johanbakx - 23-09-2020 Hi Ed, started the cycle today with an easy 60:36 in 5:24. Distance 11.22k. I'll take a restday tomorrow, cause it has been the 4th day in a row running. Then the 4x2k on Friday evening! Gonna be a tough one, I'll let you know how I did. Cheers RE: Working towards my first sub 45 10K - TheEd - 24-09-2020 Hi Johan, do you use a heart rate monitor, would be interesting to see your pulse correlated to the pace good luck for Friday TheEd RE: Working towards my first sub 45 10K - johanbakx - 08-05-2021 Hi TheEd! Been running a lot the past year and in pretty good shape. But today I got a new watch and for the first time I can monitor my heart rate! " alt="" title=""> What heart rate should I aim for in my long runs? Any more tips, I’m happy to hear from you! Cheers, Johan |
