New event challenge - DaveM40 - 14-04-2010 Hi TheEd - I will do long run on Saturday - but ONLY if I feel recovered, otherwise Sunday. Saturday is better for me too. I did the 5 x 2k workout today; . time - ave hr - max - after rest 1/ 7:14 - 152 - 158 - 111 2/ 7:15 - 154 - 161 - 116 3/ 7:15 - 157 - 163 - 120 4/ 7:15 - 159 - 165 - 126 5/ 7:15 - 160 - 166 - 118 * *I notice the recovery is always quicker after last rest - I guess I have relaxed more knowing it is all over! :jester: The HR figures were nice - as well as the pace :yes: I felt quite good and relaxed when running. I started working hard last 2, but that is the nature of the workout I think? Legs ok - no problems. Resting Hr was 49 today - recently lowest has been 47 and highest 51 - so all seems ok, I will keep monitoring this as you said. I will have planned rest day tomorrow. Hope this is ok - all the best. Did long one today - felt great. Ran on flat path course (except 2k uphill half way) 1hr 48 - 23 k - ave pace 4.41 / ave hr 130 Felt easy and enjoyable. I kept it a bit slower first half. Should be fine to go to 25k in 3 weeks time. I guess it would take 1hr 57 ish... Very easy recovery 10k tomorrow? Thanks ![]() New event challenge - DaveM40 - 19-04-2010 Hi TheEd - feeding back as promissed; Ran 8k v.slow yesterday - all ok Ran 10k today -felt good all the way really. Legs seem fresh enough. I ran 10k in 44.40 (ave 4.28) - ave hr 132 - I ran easy 5k then pushed on just a little to 10k - all feeling fine :yes: 6 x 1000 3pm tomorrow? Is that ok? Should rest of week be; :mmm: Very easy 10k tomorrow 15k Thursday Rest Friday Tempo Saturday - should I stick to 5k sub 18:30 or look for longer at HM pace? 1 Hour easy Sunday Thanks for your help ... Dave New event challenge - TheEd - 20-04-2010 my my .. it is great to see your development .. incredible to see the pulse drop to 122 after the 6th 1000 everything in order except we can change Saturday's run to a 1hr tempo minimum 15km and maximum 15 km fastest time allowed - 56:30 please ask for clarity on this, if need be .. interested to know pulse during tempo run Cheers and again, nice going TheEd |
