April 8, 2010, OTTAWA ââ¬â Running a close second to the half-marathon which sold out March 30, registration for the Ottawa Race Weekend 10K race is about to reach its capacity of 9,500 runners.
ââ¬ÅWith 95% of the race sold out, weââ¬â¢ll easily beat last yearââ¬â¢s May 15 sell-out date by a full month,ââ¬Â said Jim Robinson, General Manager, Run Ottawa.
Ottawa Race Weekend is an unqualified success story in road racing in central Canada. With runners coming from across the country and from eastern and central American states, it is a hot destination for people interested in a flat, fast course that is well organized.
With six weeks to go before the May 29-30 Ottawa Race Weekend, coveted spots in race distances that arenââ¬â¢t sold out are filling up quickly. The 4,500 limit in the marathon field is 85% sold, and registrations for the 5K and family 2K are selling quickly.
