In the first final at the 13th IAAF World Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Daegu on Saturday morning, the Kenyan women made history in the marathon as they finished 1-2-3 with Edna Kiplagat winning the gold medal in 2 hours, 28 minutes, 43 seconds, followed by countrywomen, Priscah Jeptoo (2:29:00) and Sharon Cherop (2:29:14).
