Ex-world record holder on the marathon Chaterine Ndereba (2.18.47 Chicago 2001) starts at the Groet Uit Schoorl Run. Sheââ¬â¢ll be participating on the half marathon. The Kenyan athlete has deliberately chosen for Schoorl in preparation for a spring marathon. The Groet Uit Schoorl Run takes place on Sunday February 12th.
At the last Olympic Games in Beijing Catherine Ndereba earned silver on the marathon. Four years earlier in Athene she also finished second. In 2003 and 2007 she became world champion on the marathon. She also won the marathon of Boston four times and Chicago two times.
There is a small change that Ndereba goes to the Olympic Games for Kenya, especially given the competition in this country. But she will try to achieve the Olympic limit in order to start at the Olympic Marathon for the third time in her career.
