Battle in the urban jungle in the Cape Summer Trail Series Race 2
The promise of sunset adventure on a pearler Cape Town evening drew the biggest turnout in Cape Summer Trail Series history last night, with over 1000 runners turning up to tackle the spectacular tracks and trails of the Constantia Greenbelts and Cecelia Forest. This new exciting format, inspired to bring a new level of adventure to the Trail Series, sparked some energy & life into this normally quiet, leafy suburb of Constantia. In addition, R10,000 was raised for the South African Riding for the Disabled Association ââ¬â a local Constantia initiative in the process.
While for the most part runners had enough light to get through the course, many ended up brandishing headlamps and iPhone apps to help light their way as dusk settled in. The herd of runners made their way around either the 10km Championship or 6.4km Challenge routes through the serene Constantia Greenbelts and the lower slopes of Cecelia forest ââ¬â the latter offering fantastic views of the Southern Suburbs between the trees.
