OTTAWA- Athletics Canada’s entry at the NACAC (North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletics Association) under-23 Championships won an amazing 18 medals over the course of the three day competition this weekend in Guanajuato, Mexico. Canada’s previous best event finish at this event was a haul of 17 medals at the 2010 edition held in the United States. The next edition of this event will take place in Kamloops, B.C., in 2014. Funding for NACAC U-23 Team
OTTAWA – Athletics Canada is pleased to announce that the team representing Canada at the 2012 NACAC under 23 Athletics Championships will be fully funded, up to 43 individuals. “The transition from junior to senior athlete is a difficult one, with this initiative we hope to remove financial barriers for athletes making this jump, said Rob Guy, Chief Executive Officer, Athletics Canada. 18 athletes named to 2012 NACAC Cross Country team
Athletics Canada announced today the athletes that will travel to Port-of-Spain, Trinidad for the 2012 North America, Central America and Caribbean (NACAC) Cross Country Championships to be held Saturday March 17. Port-of-Spain was good to the squad which competed at last year’s edition with the junior men and women taking gold and the senior men and women winning silver. 2012 returnees Cameron Levins (senior men) and Maria Bernard (junior women) won silver and bronze respectively.
