DALLAS ââ¬â Organizers for the MetroPCS Dallas Marathon announced that Sara Hall, the 2012 U.S. Cross Country Champion and three-time Olympic Trials finalist, is competing in the MetroPCS Dallas Half Marathon on Sunday, Dec. 14. Hallââ¬â¢s 2014 racing season includes wins at the Napa-to-Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon, Healdsburg Wine Country Half Marathon and the inaugural San Jose Gatorade Media Maratón.
ââ¬ÅIââ¬â¢m excited to run the MetroPCS Dallas Half Marathon. This fun race and great course promises to deliver a memorable race day,ââ¬Â said Hall.
Hall is a native of Santa Rosa, Ca. and competed collegiately at Stanford, where she was a seven-time All-American. She is a three-time Olympic Trials finalist, a Pan American Games Gold Medalist and the 2012 U.S. National Cross Country Champion. Hall and her husband, Ryan, an elite American marathoner and U.S. Olympian, established the nonprofit Hall Steps Foundation, which funds mentoring and running programs for at-risk youth. Ryan is an elite ambassador for the MetroPCS Dallas Marathon and will run the opening leg of a Behringer Relay team before cheering Sara on from the MetroPCS Dallas Half Marathon finish line.
ââ¬ÅWeââ¬â¢re extremely excited to have Sara Hall running the MetroPCS Dallas Half Marathon,ââ¬Â said Patrick Byerly, president of the Dallas Marathon. ââ¬ÅSara has had an impressive racing season and will challenge our womenââ¬â¢s field, bringing a heightened level of excitement to all runners and spectators participating in race day this December.ââ¬Â
